Abstract

In this paper, it is constructed a mathematical model that can be used to determine the clan of family
members formed by the rules of intermarriage in Minangkabau, West Sumatera, Indonesia. By using the rules
described in a permutation matrix and also some assumptions represented in the matrix of the relationship between a
mother and a child, then the clan of other family members can be obtained
