Abstract

This article discusses the introduction of The Transtheoretical Model (TTM) and its application in the implementation of drug rehabilitation counseling according to an Islamic perspective. This study is a qualitative research based on data and information from library researches. Several methods in the disciplines of Usul al-Fiqh, al-Qawa'id al-Fiqhiyyah and Maqasid al-Shari'ah are also applied as they involve in discussion to evaluate a matter according to the Islamic perspective. The objective of this study is to examine the position of TTM according to the Islamic perspective. The findings of the study showed that TTM is basically shariah compliant. Therefore, it can be implemented by Muslim counselors on Muslim clients in drug rehabilitation counseling.
