The aim of this study is to analyze and identify the challenges confronting the Pahang Zakat Collection Center throughout the implementation of the MS 1900. The research was conducted qualitatively using the case-study approach. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to source the primary data, supported by the examination of importanat documents related to the MS 1900 procedures at the Pahang Zakat Collection Center. 15 respondents from the Center’s top management and its officers were inetrviewed. Data collected were then thematically analyzed using the ATLAS.ti, version 7. Results indicate the existence of a number of challenges during the implementation of the MS 1900 Quality Management System at the Zakat Center, most notably, the workers’ attitude, workload, limited resources, and public ignorance. Suggestions for improvement of the System will be discussed in this report so as to improve on the efficiency and effectiveness of the quality management system. Outcome of this study may be used as a guide for corporate and public organizations in their effort to implement quality assuarance based on the principles of the Shari‘ah.
