Abstract

Work ethics is one of the paramount issues in the organizational management. Organizational performance is heavily influenced by the work ethics practised by the top management, officers and employees. Islam as an inclusive religion offers comprehensive guidelines on the proper work ethics to be practised in an organization. The objective of this study is to explore the the Islamic Work Ethics (IWE) implementation at JCorp, with a focus on strategy implementation and the factors which influence the IWE implementation. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 15 interviewees encompassing top management and executives of JCorp. Data were analyzed using the thematic technique analysis, which identify themes relevant to the strategy implementation and the factors that influence the implementation of Islamic work ethics in JCorp. Results showed that the JCorp management had employed 5 strategies to implement Islamic work ethics that is identification, implementation, evaluation, maintenance and monitoring, and continuous improvement. The factors that influence the Islamic work ethics implementation is the working environment, remuneration and welfare of its employees, the discipline monitoring aspect, transparency, religious practices and communication.
